LAHORE: The officials of the Counter Terrorism Department of the Punjab Police have arrested two suspects from Lahore for their alleged involvement in two blasts, Dasu project bus in KP and Johar Town, Lahore.
Both the suspects are real brothers who have been taken into custody Defence area in Lahore where they were living for the past many years. The CTD officials, nonetheless, did not disclose the identity of the suspects for security reasons.

According to CTD officials, the suspects had shifted from Quetta and the CTD officials arrested them on the basis of intelligence reports that indicated their involvement in the terror acts.
About 13 people, including nine Chinese engineers, were killed when a bus taking workers to the 4,300-MW Dasu hydropower project was hit by a blast in Upper Kohistan area in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa second week of July 2021.

Initially, the foreign minister termed the incident an accident only, but later on information minister Fawad Chaudhary tweeted that explosive materials evidence has been found during initial investigation of this tragedy.
Meanwhile, Chinese officials too urged the Pakistan government to probe the Dasu bus tragedy and hold the culprits accountable. A team of Chinese experts also carried out a joint investigation of the bus blast and left Pakistan a few days ago.

Furthermore, a bomb blast in a car had also left seven persons dead while over 15 others injured at Johar Town, Lahore near the residence of Hafiz Saeed, chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa in the last week of June.
The police officials claimed that the two suspects arrested from Lahore were involved directly or indirectly in both incidents of terrorism. The suspects have been shifted to an undisclosed place for further interrogation.
