Sindh has become the first province in Pakistan to implement a drone-based e-challan system. This innovative initiative monitors traffic violations from the sky and enforces instant fines efficiently.
The newly launched Traffic Regulation and Citation System uses drones for covert surveillance across key city areas. Vehicles violating traffic rules, especially illegal parking, are identified immediately. On Zainul Abideen Street, two vehicles were fined PKR 10,000 each for parking violations. Owners can pay the fine within 14 days to avail a 50% discount.
A dedicated drone patrol team has been deployed to continuously monitor streets. Authorities emphasize that repeated or deliberate traffic violations will result in immediate e-challans. The system aims to improve overall traffic discipline while ensuring compliance with parking regulations.
DIG Traffic, Peer Muhammad Shah, confirmed the program’s primary goal is better enforcement of traffic laws. He highlighted that the drone system provides real-time monitoring and reduces the need for manual surveillance.
The introduction of drone-based traffic enforcement marks a significant step in modernizing city management. It promises to reduce congestion, discourage illegal parking, and maintain road discipline. Citizens are encouraged to follow traffic rules diligently to avoid instant fines.
With the addition of technology-driven monitoring, Sindh sets a precedent for other provinces. Authorities believe that using drones for traffic enforcement will increase efficiency and accountability. Moreover, it serves as a deterrent against traffic violations in busy urban areas.
Overall, the system combines innovation with law enforcement, ensuring safer and more organized roads. Residents are expected to adjust to this new monitoring method, promoting a culture of responsible driving. The drone-based e-challan system is not only modern but also practical for rapid enforcement.
