A shocking case of child abuse has emerged from Karachi’s Manghopir area, where a seminary teacher has been arrested for brutally assaulting a six-year-old student. The incident occurred at a madrassa in Aziz Brohi Goth and has sparked outrage across the community.
Child Severely Beaten With Sticks
According to SSP West Tariq Mastoi, the teacher repeatedly struck the young boy with sticks, causing severe head injuries. The violence was so extreme that the child suffered a fractured skull. Police confirmed that a case has been officially registered and a full investigation is now underway.
The child’s father reported that his son began experiencing seizures shortly after the assault. He also woke up screaming in pain throughout the night. Alarmed by his condition, the family rushed him to a nearby hospital, where initial X-rays revealed a skull fracture.
The young victim later underwent two MRI scans — first at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and then at Jinnah Hospital — to evaluate the extent of the internal injuries.
Teacher Arrested as Family Demands Justice
Police identified the accused teacher as Allah Batchaya and confirmed that he has been taken into custody. A formal FIR has been lodged following medical verification of the child’s injuries.
However, the boy’s father stated that when he first approached the police, they only issued a preliminary slip. Officers allegedly insisted on medical reports before registering a formal case, delaying the legal process.
The incident has renewed concerns over safety, accountability, and oversight in religious educational institutions. Families and activists are now calling for stricter monitoring to prevent future cases of abuse.
