The Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al Johani, met Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting marked another step toward deepening defence engagement between the two long-standing partners.
Both sides discussed mutual interests and reviewed the regional security landscape. They also explored ways to strengthen ongoing military cooperation. Because of rising security challenges across the region, the discussions centred on practical steps to enhance coordination.
Commitment to Stronger Military Collaboration
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expand defence ties. They stressed that cooperation between the two armies has always remained significant. Moreover, they agreed that continued collaboration would support regional stability.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed satisfaction with the current level of military engagement. He also highlighted the importance of training cooperation and capacity-building initiatives. According to him, these efforts help both militaries improve their operational readiness.
The visiting commander acknowledged the professionalism of Pakistan’s Army. He appreciated the role Pakistan plays in promoting stability across the region. The recognition further strengthened the atmosphere of mutual trust.
Focus on Training and Intelligence Coordination

Upon arrival at GHQ, the Saudi commander received a formal Guard of Honour. The ceremony reflected the importance Pakistan attaches to its defence partnership with Saudi Arabia.
The visit concluded with a shared resolve to keep expanding defence collaboration. Both leaders pledged to maintain regular engagement and work together for regional peace. Their commitment signalled a strong and steady direction for future cooperation.
