Riyadh has welcomed a new addition to its rapidly expanding entertainment scene: MrBeast, the world’s most popular YouTuber, who officially launched Beast Land, a theme park inspired by his viral videos. James Donaldson, 27, known globally as MrBeast, celebrated the opening on Thursday, describing it as “probably one of the best days of my life.”
Beast Land Brings Viral Challenges to Real Life
Beast Land is modeled after MrBeast’s elaborate endurance challenges, which reward participants with large cash prizes. The park features interactive attractions, including American Gladiator-style games and rollercoasters, where visitors can experience the thrill of competing in challenges similar to those seen in his videos.
“It’s one of the top requests I get: people want to be in a MrBeast video. Now they can experience it in real life,” Donaldson told Reuters. With 70% of his audience outside the US, Saudi Arabia was chosen for its accessibility and studio space for filming new content.
Lit up in neon-blue lights, the park reflects the YouTuber’s signature energetic style, merging amusement rides with competitive challenges, such as games where players face cushioned falls if they react too slowly.
Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Boom
Beast Land is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and modernize society. Once known for strict restrictions on cinemas, concerts, and public entertainment, the kingdom now hosts nearly year-round events, including Riyadh Season, boxing matches, house music parties, and sports competitions.
Saudi Arabia has become a magnet for international talent, from Cristiano Ronaldo to Naomi Campbell, and now YouTubers. The kingdom’s investment in entertainment highlights its strategy to attract global audiences while providing young Saudis with modern recreational opportunities.
Despite past controversies, including a legal dispute in Mexico over filming at Maya pyramids, MrBeast remains a global figure whose projects continue to reshape how digital creators engage with audiences in physical spaces.
