A horrifying act of violence shook North Waziristan on Wednesday as militants belonging to the Fitna Al Khawarij group burned six people alive in the Mir Ali area. According to security sources, the victims were attacked after refusing to pay extortion money demanded by the armed group.
Militants Torch Vehicle After Opening Fire
Sources said the militants first opened fire on the victims’ car before dousing it with petrol and setting it ablaze. The attackers carried out the brutal act to spread fear in the area. All six passengers trapped inside the vehicle died instantly as the flames engulfed the car.
Eyewitnesses described the attack as “beyond barbaric,” saying the blaze was visible from a great distance and sent shockwaves through nearby villages. The incident sparked panic among locals, who rushed to the scene but were unable to help due to the intensity of the fire.
Local police and rescue teams later arrived and shifted the charred remains to a nearby hospital for identification. Authorities confirmed that the victims were civilians and had no link to any militant activity.
Security Forces Launch Hunt for Attackers
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched an extensive search operation to locate and arrest the perpetrators. The incident has once again highlighted the persistent threat posed by extremist outfits operating in the region.
Residents condemned the assault, calling it an act of sheer brutality by Fitna Al Khawarij terrorists. They urged the government and security agencies to act decisively to restore peace in North Waziristan.
Local elders and community representatives demanded swift justice, stressing that such barbaric acts could never be justified under the guise of religion or warfare. “This was not jihad — it was the cold-blooded murder of innocents,” one resident said.
