Pakistan’s security forces killed seven terrorists linked to Indian proxies in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Sherani district of Balochistan. The operation underscores Pakistan’s continued resolve to eliminate terrorism from its soil.
Operation Details in Sherani
According to the military statement, security forces launched the IBO after receiving intelligence on the presence of terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Khwarij, also known as the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Troops engaged the terrorists’ hideout, and after a heavy exchange of fire, seven militants were neutralized. Authorities confirmed that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the operation.
The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple violent activities in the region. A sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining hostile elements in the area.
Pakistan’s Commitment Against Indian-Sponsored Terrorism
The military reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to dismantle networks of Indian-sponsored militants operating in the country. Officials emphasized that the operation demonstrates the nation’s unwavering commitment to bringing perpetrators of terrorism to justice.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces for their success. He vowed that Pakistan would “uproot the monster of terrorism” and protect its territorial integrity at all costs.
He stressed that the government, along with the armed forces, remains determined to fully eradicate terrorism from Pakistan.
Recent Wave of Terrorism in Pakistan
The Sherani operation comes shortly after a deadly suicide attack near the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Quetta, which claimed 11 lives.
Pakistan has faced an alarming rise in violence in 2025. Data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) indicates that the country recorded a 46% surge in violent incidents during the third quarter (Q3).
From July to September 2025, Pakistan reported 901 fatalities and 599 injuries across 329 incidents, including terrorist attacks and counterterrorism operations.

Outlaws accounted for 516 deaths, or 57% of the total.
-
Civilians and security personnel suffered 385 losses.
-
Civilian fatalities stood at 219 (24%).

Security forces lost 166 personnel (18%).
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan remained the most affected provinces, together witnessing over 96% of all violence-related deaths.
KP experienced 638 fatalities, representing 71% of total casualties, while Balochistan reported 230 fatalities. Comparisons with the previous quarter showed a dramatic rise: KP saw a 64% increase, and Balochistan recorded a 21% surge.
The successful Sherani operation highlights Pakistan’s ongoing fight against terrorism and foreign-sponsored networks. Despite a worrying rise in violence, the country’s security forces and government remain steadfast in their commitment to eliminating militant threats and safeguarding national integrity.
