The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the construction of a new KP House in Haripur’s Makhnial area.
According to a notification from the Establishment Department, the scheme has been included in the Annual Development Programme. The estimated cost of the project stands at Rs500 million, reflecting the government’s commitment to expanding official infrastructure.
Budget Allocation for Current Fiscal Year
Around Rs250 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year to initiate work on the scheme immediately.
Officials confirmed that the allocation ensures financial resources are available to begin construction without unnecessary delays.
The provincial government has also instructed the deputy commissioner of Haripur to identify suitable state land in Makhnial.
Purpose and Function of KP House
The proposed KP House will serve as an official government facility for accommodation and administrative support.
It will operate on the same model as existing KP Houses in Islamabad and other major cities.
The facility will provide lodging for government officials while offering space for administrative coordination and provincial representation.
Strategic Location of Haripur
Haripur, located in Hazara Division, lies about 65 kilometres north of Islamabad.
The district is also 35 kilometres south of Abbottabad, giving it strategic connectivity to two important urban centres.
Authorities believe that once the land is finalized, Haripur will become a convenient hub for government activities.
Step Toward Enhanced Provincial Presence
By constructing a KP House in Haripur, the government aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and expand provincial presence.
This initiative demonstrates the province’s effort to decentralize official facilities while ensuring better support for visiting officials.
Furthermore, the project highlights the administration’s focus on balanced development across different regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
