Users Report Connectivity Issues as PTCL Servers Go Down Countrywide
PTCL Internet and mobile internet outage today in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD – A major nationwide outage struck Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Monday, disrupting internet and landline services across the country. Users from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other cities reported loss of connectivity, sparking widespread concern among individuals, businesses, and institutions reliant on PTCL’s infrastructure.
The company has not yet issued an official statement confirming the cause of the outage, but internal sources suggest the issue may be linked to a core server failure or a major technical fault in PTCL’s central network architecture.
Social media platforms were quickly flooded with complaints, as customers voiced frustration over the sudden disconnection and lack of updates. Hashtags like #PTCLDown and #InternetOutage began trending on X (formerly Twitter) within hours of the disruption.
According to initial reports, not only home broadband and landline services but also several corporate clients and banking systems relying on PTCL backbones were affected. Some users noted partial restoration in isolated pockets, but full connectivity remained down in most areas at the time of reporting.
IT professionals warned that such widespread outages can cripple digital operations, particularly in a country where a significant portion of government and enterprise communication depends on PTCL infrastructure.
Technical teams are reportedly working to resolve the issue. However, no estimated timeline for restoration has been provided so far.
This is not the first time PTCL has faced a nationwide disruption. Experts say the incident once again highlights the urgent need for redundant systems and diversified infrastructure to avoid total blackouts in the country’s digital connectivity.
