15-Day Province-Wide Ban on Pillion Riding, Tinted Windows, and Display of Weapons
The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across all districts of the province for a period of 15 days, citing growing security concerns and the need to maintain law and order.
According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, the emergency measures have been implemented as a preventive step to curb potential threats and ensure public safety in both urban and rural areas.
Under the restrictions, the following activities have been strictly prohibited across Balochistan:
- Pillion riding on motorcycles
- Use of vehicles with black-tinted windows
- Public display of firearms or any form of weaponry
The authorities have made it clear that violators will face strict legal action, and law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure full compliance with the orders.
Security-Driven Decision
Officials say the decision to enforce Section 144 was taken following intelligence reports and law enforcement assessments that indicated the possibility of unrest or subversive activities in certain areas.
“This move is aimed at maintaining peace and preventing any elements from disturbing public order,” a senior official from the Home Department said.
Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) allows the government to prohibit gatherings of more than four people, restrict movement, and enforce other temporary controls to prevent threats to peace and security.
Citizens have been advised to cooperate with authorities and avoid any actions that may be interpreted as violations of the ban. Law enforcement personnel will be patrolling key locations and roadways to monitor compliance throughout the 15-day period.
