Investigations into the mysterious death of actress Humaira Asghar continue, as police reveal she reached out to 14 people shortly before she died, but none responded in ways that offered leads.
Earlier this month, Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered inside her flat in Karachi’s Defence area. Since then, police have collected critical digital and physical evidence, though no definitive breakthrough has yet emerged.
Sources close to the investigation shared that complete mobile data from the actress’s three phones was retrieved. Records show she contacted 14 individuals on October 7, 2024, in what turned out to be her final attempts to communicate. Among these last calls was to a drama director now based in Islamabad, who has since been approached by authorities for questioning. Despite this, investigators say none of the people she contacted offered significant information that could advance the case.
Recovered items from the apartment include three mobile phones, all registered in Humaira’s name, along with a damaged tablet, a personal diary, several documents, and bank cards. Notably, two of the phones were left unlocked, while passwords for the third phone and the tablet were found written in her diary.
A senior official confirmed, “We have recovered 2,215 contacts across her three phones. So far, we haven’t detected any communication that seems suspicious.”
Investigators have also reached out to Humaira Asghar’s bank to better understand her financial situation in the days leading up to her death, as her bank card was discovered at the scene. However, the bank has not yet submitted its report. Officials hope that reviewing her account history might reveal important details about her mental state or any pressures she faced.
Efforts are also underway to access data from the damaged tablet, which experts believe could hold significant clues.
Further phone records show that Humaira had tried to contact her brother in early October. It remains unclear if they actually spoke, but investigators consider this an important detail in reconstructing her final days.
As the probe continues, officials stress that all leads are being pursued to understand the events that led to the tragic death of the actress. Despite analyzing extensive phone data and recovering personal items, a conclusive answer remains elusive, keeping the case open and under close watch.
