Emerging wicketkeeper-batter Haseebullah Khan has firmly denied speculation suggesting he is planning to switch his international allegiance from Pakistan to England. The 22-year-old clarified that he remains fully dedicated to representing Pakistan on the global stage.
Rumours recently circulated on social media claiming that Haseebullah had relocated to England to explore a long-term future in English cricket. However, he addressed the claims directly through his Instagram story on Sunday, dismissing them as baseless.
“I would like to inform you all that I have arrived in England in connection with my domestic county contract and sponsorship obligations,” he wrote.
Haseebullah emphasized that his presence in England is solely for county cricket commitments and insisted that he has no intention of switching national sides.
“I remain fully committed to representing my country, Pakistan, with utmost dedication and passion,” he added.
Urging fans and media outlets to verify facts before spreading misinformation, Haseebullah further stated:
“I kindly request everyone to refrain from spreading false rumours. Thanks for your continued support. Pakistan Zindabad.”
The clarification comes in response to a viral Facebook post alleging that Haseebullah had met with representatives of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to discuss a possible future with England cricket.
It’s worth noting that Haseebullah has played three T20 internationals for Pakistan, scoring 36 runs at an average of 12. He was also part of the Quetta Gladiators squad in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), though he featured in just one match, scoring seven runs.
In his overall T20 career, the young left-handed batter has played 35 matches, scoring 599 runs with three half-centuries at an average of 19.96 and a strike rate of 118.37. Despite a modest start, Haseebullah remains a promising talent in Pakistan’s cricketing pipeline.
