Pakistan’s nuclear program remains fully secure and beyond the reach of any external threat, declared Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. He firmly stated that no one could dare to target the country’s nuclear assets, underscoring Pakistan’s status as a responsible and confident nuclear-armed nation.
In an interview, Lt Gen Chaudhry strongly criticized India for allegedly pursuing state-sponsored terrorism as an integral part of its foreign policy. According to him, Indian intelligence agencies have been actively funding and supporting militant networks within Pakistan, particularly aiming to destabilize the restive province of Balochistan.
His comments follow last month’s deadly suicide attack in North Waziristan, which killed 16 Pakistani soldiers and injured more than 20 others. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the bombing.
The military spokesperson described India’s alleged involvement as a systematic attempt to undermine Pakistan’s internal security. He also explained that the term “Khawarij” is commonly used within the Pakistan Army and media for extremist factions that turn their weapons against the state. Such groups, he stressed, have nothing to do with Islam, Pakistani cultural values, or humanity itself.
He further asserted that the legitimate authority to declare jihad belongs solely to the state, and anyone acting outside this framework is an enemy of both Pakistan and Islam.
Referring to “Fitna al-Hindustan”, General Chaudhry said this term points to Indian-backed terror outfits operating mainly in Balochistan to disrupt peace and development projects. He accused Indian intelligence figures, including Ajit Doval, of directly orchestrating cross-border terrorist activities, citing public statements by Indian officials that he believes confirm these tactics.
Lt Gen Chaudhry added that India’s alleged role in state-sponsored terrorism has drawn international attention, mentioning investigations in the United States and Canada that uncovered Indian links to overseas assassination plots.
On broader regional matters, he said Pakistan considers any hostile action against Islamic nations, including recent Israeli strikes against Iran, as threats to regional stability. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran in such circumstances.
Concluding, he reiterated the resilience and security of Pakistan’s nuclear assets, stating confidently that the nation’s defensive strength and regional deterrence remain unchallenged.
