5 Militants’ Killed in CTD Operation in Quetta

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday night carried out an operation in the Hazar Ganji area in which five militants were killed.

A spokesman for the CTD said, the department had conducted the operation in the Killi Gulzar area of Hazar Ganji, a locality on the outskirts of Quetta, along with other law enforcement agencies, after receiving information about the presence of terrorists there.

The security forces surrounded the area and asked armed militants to surrender but they attacked the security officials. The security personnel returned fire which resulted in killing of five militants. The violent exchange of gunfire continued for around two hours.

CTD spokesman said, “Five terrorists belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) outfit have been killed in the gun battle,” adding that three militants managed to escape.
