The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning for Karachi and other parts of southern Sindh, with soaring temperatures expected from May 25 due to a developing low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea.
According to Director General Anjum Rizvi, temperatures in Karachi could climb as high as 40ยฐC, with the heat likely to feel 3 to 4 degrees hotter due to atmospheric conditions. Citizens are urged to take precautions to protect themselves from potential heat-related health risks.
The heatwave is expected to primarily affect interior districts of southern Sindh, including Karachi. However, coastal areas are not currently under direct threat from the system.
The Met Office is closely monitoring weather developments and will issue updates as needed to help ensure public safety during this period of extreme heat.
