Pakistan has strongly condemned India’s recent military actions, accusing New Delhi of acting unilaterally and in violation of international norms by targeting civilians and disregarding established treaties.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan criticized India for launching attacks based on unverified social media posts, describing its conduct as behaving like “judge, jury, and executioner.” He said these actions endanger regional stability and demonstrate blatant aggression without credible evidence.
He cited India’s refusal to cooperate in investigations into the Pathankot and Mumbai attacks as a longstanding obstacle to justice. Additionally, he reiterated Pakistan’s position that India has consistently undermined peace efforts while engaging in activities that destabilize the region.
Highlighting the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, a captured Indian naval officer, the spokesperson said it served as proof of India’s involvement in terrorist operations within Pakistan. He also referenced the Samjhauta Express bombing, accusing Hindu extremists tied to India’s ruling party of carrying out the deadly attack.
India’s claim of targeting militant infrastructure was rejected, with Pakistan asserting that airstrikes killed civilians, including women and children, and even damaged mosques and critical infrastructure like the Neelum Dam.
India’s recent move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty was labeled “illegal” and an attack on Pakistan’s agrarian economy. Khan said India’s actions amounted to a calculated assault on the livelihood of Pakistan’s population.
He also criticized the Indian foreign secretary’s statements as irresponsible and lacking diplomacy, noting a trend of baseless and provocative rhetoric. Khan reminded that India had once taken the Kashmir dispute to the UN but now refuses to abide by its commitments.
Tensions flared after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, with India accusing Pakistan without evidence. In response to India’s escalations — including airstrikes and suspension of diplomatic protocols — Pakistan downed five Indian jets and 77 Israeli-origin Harop drones, using advanced electronic and kinetic defense systems.
Despite India’s silence, Pakistani citizens showed strong support for their armed forces, particularly in Karachi, where public demonstrations celebrated the military’s defensive actions.
