LONDON: Royal enthusiasts will have the chance to step back in time and witness the grandeur of Britain’s royal history as Buckingham Palace opens its doors for a major exhibition at The King’s Gallery.
Running from April to November 23, 2025, the exhibition will showcase the elegance and opulence of the Edwardian era, focusing on the lives and tastes of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, as well as King George V and Queen Mary.
Among the highlights is Queen Alexandra’s Coronation dress from 1902, which will be on public display, alongside more than 300 exquisite objects from the Royal Collection. Nearly half of the items will be exhibited for the first time.
The Royal Collection Trust, which manages the exhibition, has now released full details of ticket prices and visiting hours. The income generated from ticket sales will support the Trust’s ongoing work in preserving and conserving the Royal Collection, as well as educational programs and public exhibitions.
In a statement on its website, the Trust said:
“More than 300 objects from the Royal Collection will be on display – almost half for the first time – including works by the most renowned artists of the era, such as Carl Fabergé, Frederic Leighton, Edward Burne-Jones, Rosa Bonheur, John Singer Sargent, and William Morris.”
The exhibition spans a fascinating period in royal history, covering the timeline from Edward and Alexandra’s wedding in 1863 to the aftermath of the First World War.
Visitors can expect a dazzling display of fine art, historic fashion, and craftsmanship that defined the tastes of a transformative era in British monarchy.
