Prime Minister has directed the establishment of a dedicated working women’s hostel in Islamabad’s Sector I-9, in a move aimed at addressing the growing need for secure and affordable housing for women in the workforce.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has formally approved the initiative, and a notification has been issued to the Ministry of Education. As part of the project, the existing Special Education Center in Sector I-9 will be repurposed to serve as the hostel facility.
The proposal was jointly submitted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Rights, highlighting the pressing demand for appropriate residential accommodations for working women in the capital.
Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, emphasized the importance of the project, noting that it directly responds to a critical need. He added that the Prime Minister’s directive reflects a commitment to supporting women’s participation in the workforce by easing the challenges they face in finding safe and suitable housing.
The Ministry of Education and Human Rights now awaits final execution following the formal approval.
