Assistant Commissioner shuts down Petrol Station Over Fuel Shortchanging Allegations

ISLAMABAD: Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Ali took immediate action against a local petrol station, sealing the facility after receiving verified complaints of fuel shortchanging.

According to a press release, multiple consumer reports had raised concerns that the petrol station was charging customers full price while dispensing less fuel than paid for.

In response, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Ali visited the site to conduct an inspection. Preliminary findings confirmed the allegations, revealing systematic malpractice at the station.

Local residents had reported that the station’s meters appeared to be tampered with, consistently providing less fuel than the amount shown on the pump.

Such deceptive practices directly violate consumer protection regulations, prompting Ali to take swift enforcement action.

“We will not tolerate any attempts to cheat consumers,” Ali said during the inspection. “These fraudulent practices not only harm customers but also damage the reputation of honest businesses.”
