Hera Pheri 3
After years of anticipation and countless speculations, Hera Pheri 3 has finally gone on floors, sending waves of excitement across Bollywood and among die-hard fans of the franchise.
The iconic trio—Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal—have officially reunited, stepping back into their legendary roles as Raju, Shyam, and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the filmmaker behind the original Hera Pheri (2000), the third installment promises to bring back the charm, chaos, and laughter that turned the series into a cult classic.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, filming commenced on April 3, with the first scene being shot featuring all three lead actors. A source close to the production confirmed, “Yes, it’s true. The first scene was indeed shot today with Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh, who will be bringing back the memories of their iconic roles.”
The return of the original cast has added a strong emotional appeal for fans who have cherished the franchise for over two decades. Excitement for Hera Pheri 3 soared after Akshay Kumar confirmed his involvement at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in 2024, putting to rest rumors about recasting and creative differences.
Priyadarshan, speaking about the immense pressure of living up to fan expectations, acknowledged the challenges ahead. “It is going to be very challenging to make the third part because there will be too many expectations.
Characters have gotten older, and accordingly, people should believe… these are important things. I am taking it as a challenge. Let’s see how it works,” he said.
The Hera Pheri series has carved a niche for itself in Indian cinema with its unique blend of slapstick humor, unforgettable dialogues, and endearing characters.
The first movie became a sleeper hit and later achieved cult status, while Phir Hera Pheri (2006) continued the laughter riot and cemented the trio’s place in pop culture history.
Though the plot of Hera Pheri 3 remains tightly under wraps, expectations are high that the film will offer a nostalgic trip down memory lane while introducing new comic chaos to entertain a new generation of audiences. The buzz around the project suggests that the film could once again redefine comedy in Bollywood.
