Four Killed, Four Injured as Speeding Dumper Overturns in Federal Capital

A tragic traffic accident in the Federal Capital claimed the lives of four people and left four others injured when a speeding dumper overturned, crushing several vehicles beneath it. The accident occurred on IJP Road, following a tire burst on the sand-laden dumper, which caused it to lose control and collide with multiple cars before overturning onto a rickshaw.

The victims included three men and a 15-year-old girl. Rescue teams and police quickly arrived at the scene after receiving the report. The driver of the dumper fled the scene, while the bodies and injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital.

The accident took place within the jurisdiction of the Sabzi Mandi police station. Both Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) arrived at the site following the incident.

A spokesperson confirmed that four people lost their lives and four others sustained injuries. The DC assured that the fugitive dumper driver would be apprehended soon, and the CTO confirmed efforts were underway to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.

Citizens expressed deep sorrow over the accident and urged authorities to implement stricter safety measures for heavy vehicles on the roads to prevent such tragedies in the future.
