Mother of Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir Passes Away; Leaders Extend Condolences

ISLAMABAD: The mother of Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir has passed away, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced early Tuesday. The statement prayed for the highest ranks in heaven for the departed soul.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep condolences over the loss, extending his solidarity with the bereaved family. In a statement issued by the PM Office, he prayed for eternal peace for the deceased.

Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani also conveyed his sympathies to the army chief, expressing sorrow over the loss and praying for strength for the grieving family.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq joined in offering condolences, emphasizing that parents are a divine blessing and their passing is an irreplaceable loss. He prayed for the departed soul and for patience for the family in this difficult time.
