Sindh Police have announced plans to deploy a dedicated ‘Highway Patrol Police’ on major highways and intercity roads to bolster security. The initiative aims to enhance safety measures while continuing to implement other crime prevention strategies, including the installation of modern surveillance cameras.
An important meeting was convened at the Central Police Office, led by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, with participation from DIGs, senior crime and investigation officers, traffic officials from Hyderabad, and representatives from various police departments such as CIA, IT, Finance, and Establishment.
During the meeting, officials outlined the objectives of the proposed highway patrol initiative, discussed the current status of checkpoints, and addressed the challenges posed by limited resources in effectively implementing the project.
