ISLAMABAD: A total of 22 Indian fishermen were released from Malir Jail in Karachi and sent to Wagah Border by bus for repatriation to India.
An Edhi Foundation spokesperson confirmed that the organization would cover all travel expenses for the fishermen from the jail to the border.
The majority of violations occur due to the absence of a physical boundary and the lack of navigational tools for small fishermen. As a result, hundreds of fishermen are arrested by the Coast Guards of both countries, but securing their release is often a lengthy and difficult process due to the strained relations between India and Pakistan.
