ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has postponed todayโs scheduled oath-taking ceremony for seven new judges, rescheduling it for Friday due to delays in official notifications.
Late last night, the Ministry of Law and Justice issued appointment notifications for six permanent judges and one acting judge to the countryโs highest court. The new permanent appointees include Justices Hashim Khan Kakar, Shafi Siddiqui, Salahuddin Panhwar, Shakeel Ahmed, Amir Farooq, and Ishtiaq Ibrahim.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has been appointed as an acting judge of the Supreme Court, as per the ministryโs notification.
The delay in issuing these important notifications required rescheduling the oath-taking ceremony, which was initially set for today. The ministry has confirmed that the new ceremony will take place on Friday.
