Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss security concerns in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as issues related to the madrassa registration bill.
JUI-F Secretary-General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri clarified that the meeting had no pre-set agenda. He stated that Fazlur Rehman raised concerns over growing pressure regarding the registration of madrassas.
“The prime minister was informed about the immense pressure I have been facing on this issue,” Fazlur Rehman conveyed during the discussion.
He also voiced his reservations about the worsening security situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that law and order had deteriorated to a point where public safety was at risk.
JUI-F leaders emphasized the need for legal resolutions to address these provincial challenges. According to Haideri, Shehbaz Sharif carefully listened to their concerns and responded positively, indicating a willingness to address the issues raised.
