Former CEO NICL Captain (retd) Jameel Akhtar has been arrested in an illegal recruitment case. He was seized by FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle.
FIA said that three more persons were seized over the previous CEO’s identification.
Officials said that captain Akhtar was the CEO of NICL from 2015 to 2016 and enlisted nine-person unlawfully during his period of occupancy.
Nine persons attached to the case used to the work for a private insurance company before they were appointed by Akhtar for NICL.
Officials said that the enrollment of these persons was done without any rule, and based on favoritism, which caused a great loss to the national exchequer.
Moreover, sources inform that the amount of loss faced by the national coffers was being calculated. Authorities claim that the process of finding more suspects for the reported case is going on.
