Lahore now has three additional passport offices, strategically set up at NADRA mega centers in Sandah, Peco Road, and Shimla Pahari. This initiative, carried out under the supervision of the NADRA chairman and the passport director general, aims to ease the demand for passport services in the city.
Previously, Lahore had five passport offices, including those in Shahdara, Quaid-e-Azam Interchange, Raiwind, and Garden Town. With the inclusion of the three new centers, the total number has increased to eight, allowing for more efficient processing and reducing the pressure on existing offices.
The Shimla Pahari office offers round-the-clock service, while the Sandah and Peco Road centers are open until 10pm. Additionally, these offices provide both identity card and passport services in one location, streamlining the process for applicants.
Citizens have welcomed this development, appreciating the convenience and time savings. One applicant noted, “This is a great initiative; it saves time and makes the process more efficient.”
The expansion of these facilities was directed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in response to the increasing demand for passport services in Lahore.
In a related development, the Directorate of Immigration and Passports has also announced the extension of its fast-track passport service to 26 additional cities, bringing the total to 47. This service, which was initially available in major cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, is now accessible in other regions, including Attock, Chakwal, and Sargodha, as well as several cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
