KP Allocates Rs40m to Support 80 Churches in Christmas Celebrations

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a special grant of Rs40 million for churches across the province to support Christmas celebrations. The decision was made during a session chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and supporting minority communities.

As part of the initiative, 80 churches will each receive Rs500,000 to assist with preparations for the festive season. Chief Minister Gandapur has instructed the immediate release of funds to ensure timely support for the Christian community in celebrating their religious and cultural traditions.

“The provincial government stands with the Christian community in sharing their joy and festivities,” Gandapur stated, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to inclusivity and respect for diversity. The grant aims to enhance the spirit of unity and strengthen ties with minority groups across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This gesture highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to promote harmony and mutual respect among diverse communities in the province. The initiative underscores the administration’s recognition of the significant role minority communities play in enriching the cultural fabric of the region.

By providing financial assistance to churches, the government aims to ensure that the Christian community can celebrate Christmas with dignity and without financial constraints. This support reflects a broader vision of inclusivity and the fostering of interfaith harmony in the province.

The grant distribution is expected to bolster the morale of the Christian community and contribute positively to their celebrations.
