Sheikhupura: Rana Tahir Iqbal, the candidate from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), won the by-election for Punjab Assembly constituency PP-139 on Thursday.
The election, held in Sheikhupura, saw a contest between Iqbal and Ijaz Hussain Bhatti, an independent candidate backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to unofficial results from all 124 polling stations in the constituency, Iqbal secured 44,535 votes, securing the seat as the new Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA). In contrast, Bhatti received 20,093 votes.
