Punjab University Delays Exams by One Week

Punjab University has announced a one-week postponement of its mid-term examinations, originally slated to commence on November 25. According to an official notification, the exams will now be rescheduled to a later date.

Despite the exam delay, the university clarified that regular classes will continue as scheduled. Heads of Departments (HoDs) are instructed to ensure lectures proceed through various formats, including online, in-person, or hybrid methods, to accommodate students effectively.

This recent decision aligns with a previous postponement last week caused by deteriorating air quality due to severe smog in Punjab. The worsening environmental conditions prompted the administration to prioritize the safety of students and staff by temporarily shifting to online classes.

To mitigate risks, the university directed its staff to work from home during this period, conducting all academic and administrative meetings online. These measures aim to minimize exposure to hazardous air conditions while ensuring academic continuity.

Punjab has been grappling with escalating smog levels, disrupting educational and daily activities across the province. In response, authorities have enforced temporary closures of schools in ten districts on specific days, alongside encouraging remote work and online learning.

The university’s decision reflects its commitment to safeguarding health while maintaining academic standards amid challenging circumstances.

For further updates regarding exam schedules and class arrangements, students are advised to monitor official university communications.
