Pakistan Army and Navy Intensify Search Operation in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Astore Region

A joint search operation, spearheaded by specialized teams from the Pakistan Army and Navy, is currently underway in the Astore region of Gilgit-Baltistan. The operation is focused on locating the remaining passengers who were swept away in a devastating bus accident on November 12.

The tragedy occurred near Thalichi when a bus, carrying 28 wedding guests from Astore to Chakwal, lost control and plunged into the Indus River. As of now, 15 bodies have been recovered, and search teams are working tirelessly to find the remaining 11 passengers.

To expedite the search efforts, the Pakistan Navy has deployed expert divers, equipped with advanced technology, to assist in locating those still missing. The added expertise and resources are expected to enhance the operation’s efficiency and increase the chances of success.

The Pakistan Army has expressed its deepest condolences to the families affected by the tragedy, offering full support during this heartbreaking time. The search operation will continue until all missing persons are located and accounted for.
