President Zardari
President Asif Ali Zardari has been injured in an accident at Dubai International Airport, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the President’s House on Thursday.
The incident reportedly occurred late last night, shortly after President Zardari disembarked from his plane. During this unfortunate event, he sustained a fracture to his foot.
Following the accident, the President was promptly taken to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. Medical professionals conducted a thorough examination and determined that a plaster cast would be necessary to stabilize the injury.
As part of his treatment, the doctors applied the plaster to his foot while he was still in the hospital. According to the spokesperson, this plaster will need to remain on the President’s foot for a duration of four weeks.
After receiving initial medical care, President Zardari was transferred back to his residence, where he has been advised to take complete rest to aid in his recovery.
The spokesperson assured the public that President Zardari is currently resting and following the medical advice given by his healthcare team.
Asif Ali Zardari, who is the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has been serving as the 14th President of Pakistan since March 10, 2024.
His election to this prestigious position came after a decisive victory in a one-sided presidential election held the day prior. Zardari’s presidency is significant, as he steps into leadership during a challenging time for the country.
At 69 years old, Zardari has faced health challenges in the past. In September 2022, he was admitted to a hospital in Karachi due to complications related to “post-Covid health concerns.”
Additionally, in December 2011, he was hospitalized in Dubai for a heart condition. These incidents highlight the ongoing health issues the President has navigated throughout his public service.
Despite these challenges, Zardari’s leadership remains a focal point in Pakistan’s political landscape.
His current injury in Dubai serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of public life, but with proper care and rest, it is hoped that he will make a swift recovery and continue to fulfill his presidential duties.
