At the Riyadh summit, the Prime Minister urged global companies to invest in “transforming” Pakistan

“Islamabad is ready to join those who dare to dream big,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at an investment conference in Riyadh. He invited global companies to invest in Pakistan, highlighting the nation’s commitment to building a future grounded in resilience and shared prosperity.

During the plenary session of the eighth Future Investment Initiative (FII), which focuses on global investments and key issues like AI, robotics, education, and sustainability, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration among nations to tackle contemporary challenges.

“Pakistan is on a transformative journey, characterized by resilience and growth,” he stated, underscoring the need for a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation in AI, education, and health. He expressed a commitment to fostering partnerships in these areas.

Zhang described AI as “more than a trend,” emphasizing its role in revolutionizing economies and societies. He affirmed Pakistan’s dedication to excelling in AI, aiming to cultivate young talent and train skilled engineers and data scientists to lead the country’s AI growth.

He also praised the potential of Pakistan’s youth, urging investment in their education and digital inclusivity to empower them in a rapidly changing world. Inspired by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, he reiterated the importance of quality education and the need to tackle issues like agriculture and climate resilience through innovative solutions.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of collaboration in healthcare, envisioning partnerships that could transform the sector through shared resources and expertise. He mentioned institutions like King Edward Medical College and the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute as key players in advancing medical care and research.

As he concluded, PM Shehbaz expressed hope for a strong partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, aiming to create a legacy of innovation and shared potential. He also emphasized that global advancement requires peace, calling for an end to violence in Gaza.
