Trump Visits McDonald’s as Harris Engages Churchgoers in Swing State Outreach

Trump

United States presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris spent their Sunday rallying support in crucial battleground states, just over two weeks away from the election that will determine who occupies the White House.

Former Republican President Trump focused his efforts in Pennsylvania, while Vice President Harris campaigned in Georgia, emphasizing the importance of these states in the upcoming election.

During his visit to a McDonald’s in suburban Philadelphia, Trump engaged with staff and demonstrated his affinity for fast food, a well-known trait.

An employee showed him how to dunk baskets of fries in oil, salt them, and place them in boxes using a scoop. “It requires great expertise, actually, to do it right and to do it fast,” Trump commented, playfully donning an apron over his suit and tie. He expressed enjoyment in the experience, stating, “I like this job.”

This visit seemed to serve a dual purpose: to promote his candidacy and to counter Harris’s claims about her experience working at the fast-food chain during her college years, an assertion that Trump has contested without providing evidence.

Phil Lavelle reported that the McDonald’s visit was a calculated “photo op” that allowed Trump to make a pointed jab at Harris regarding her fast-food background.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris was celebrating her 60th birthday, participating in two worship services outside Atlanta, Georgia.

At the Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, the music legend Stevie Wonder performed, singing several hits, including a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Harris.

In her speeches, Harris focused on the political climate in the United States, highlighting the divisive rhetoric that has emerged in recent years.

Although she did not mention Trump directly, her comments were clearly aimed at countering his influence, stating, “At this point across our nation, what we do see are some trying to deepen division among us, spread hate, sow fear, and cause chaos.”

She urged voters to recognize the critical moment in which the country stands, asserting that the future direction is in their hands.

Democrats have consistently portrayed Trump as a threat to democracy, especially after the events of January 6, 2021, when a mob of his supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election results.

Trump and his allies have perpetuated claims of widespread fraud in that election, claims that remain unfounded.

In Pennsylvania, Trump told reporters that he would accept the election results “if it’s a fair election,” though experts warn that he may be laying the groundwork to contest the results if he loses to Harris.

As Election Day approaches, recent polls indicate a tight race between the two candidates, particularly in key swing states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona.

Later that day, Trump participated in a town hall meeting in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, before heading to a Pittsburgh Steelers game. Meanwhile, Harris announced plans to campaign on Monday alongside former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, a vocal critic of Trump, in suburban areas of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

The contrasting strategies of both candidates illustrate the high stakes of the election and their efforts to secure critical support in swing states.
