The Islamabad High Court has suspended Senior Civil Judge Inamullah following his issuance of a stay order on the Supreme Court’s directive to demolish the Monal Restaurant. The suspension was ordered by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, who has reassigned Judge Inamullah to Officer on Special Duty (OSD) status.
This action came in response to Judge Inamullah’s decision to override the Supreme Court’s ruling, leading to an immediate recall to the High Court. In addition to the suspension, Chief Justice Farooq has initiated an inquiry into Judge Inamullah’s actions.
The inquiry, which aims to examine the circumstances surrounding the stay order, will be led by Session Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti. Sources from the court disclosed that Chief Justice Farooq had summoned Judge Inamullah to the High Court earlier today to address the situation.
