Two terrorists killed And one arrested in Swat military operation

Security forces eliminated two terrorists and captured another in Swat’s Charbagh area on Friday, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operation was based on intelligence inputs and is part of the military’s ongoing campaign against terrorism.

According to the ISPR, an exchange of gunfire took place during the operation, leading to the deaths of two terrorists, including Attaullah, alias Mehran, a notorious figure linked to several high-profile attacks. Attaullah was also responsible for a landmine attack on a foreign convoy on September 22.

One terrorist was injured and taken into custody. Security forces have ramped up search efforts in the area to locate any remaining threats, according to the ISPR.

The military remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate terrorism. “Security agencies are unwavering in their resolve to rid Pakistan of terrorism,” ISPR emphasized.

Meanwhile, Punjab’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted intelligence-based operations in various cities, arresting 18 terrorists amid heightened terror threats. Operations were carried out in Lahore, Khushab, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, and Mianwali.

Three terrorists were apprehended in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, with weapons and ammunition seized, along with banned literature and maps. CTD officials reported that the arrested terrorists intended to instill fear and chaos through planned attacks.

In a broader crackdown, 278 suspects were arrested during combing operations this week, officials added.
