PTI Negotiations
PESHAWAR: Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has characterized any attempts to hold dialogue with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party as futile.
In a recent appearance on talk show ‘Bakhabar Sawera,’ Kundi expressed strong criticism of the federal government’s handling of the situation, suggesting that their hesitance to take decisive action is indicative of weakness.
He stated, “They wouldn’t have dared if timely action had been taken,” emphasizing the need for a more assertive approach to address the challenges posed by PTI.
Kundi further argued that arrangements should be made for the PTI, indicating that their representatives would not come to their senses until concrete actions were taken against their missteps.
He warned that PTI’s actions were intended to incite conflict between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the federal government, and Punjab.
In his pointed remarks, he dismissed PTI leader Ali Amin’s statements as mere “aerial firing,” suggesting that they lack substance and credibility.
The Governor questioned Amin’s absence during recent elections, asking rhetorically where he had gone and labeling him a “guest” during that time.
Kundi also referred to Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a “political messiah” for PTI, criticizing him for claiming that his mandate was stolen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This assertion reflects the ongoing tensions within the political landscape of the province.
Addressing broader issues, Governor Kundi highlighted the resurgence of lawlessness in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that the province is facing significant security challenges once again.
He lamented, “We had given them a peaceful Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2013, but now the province has returned to lawlessness.”
Speaking to media in Multan, he pointed out that vast areas, particularly from Dera Ismail Khan to Kohat, have effectively become “no-go areas.”
This deterioration of security has raised alarms about the overall safety and governance within the region, prompting Kundi to call for urgent attention and action from the authorities to restore peace and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
