A court in Lahore Cantt has dismissed the charges against popular TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, better known as Nadeem Naniwala, who was accused of using an illegal number plate on his vehicle.
The court ruled in favor of Naniwala, citing a lack of sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations against him. Specifically, the ruling pointed out that the statement of recovery, which would have been critical to proving the case, was missing from the record.
Consequently, the court ordered Naniwala’s release and rejected the police’s request for a 14-day judicial remand. The police had sought to detain him further while they continued their investigation, but the judicial magistrate denied this request. Naniwala had been charged by the Defense C police.
On Tuesday, Lahore police arrested the TikToker during a routine check at a police checkpoint near Main Boulevard. According to a police official, he was taken into custody for allegedly using a fake number plate.
Following the court’s decision, supporters of Naniwala expressed their relief and joy, emphasizing the importance of justice in the case. The ruling not only clears Naniwala of the current charges but also highlights issues surrounding the evidence standards in such cases.
This incident has drawn significant attention, given Naniwala’s popularity on social media, where he has a substantial following.
His acquittal is likely to resonate with his fans and followers, reinforcing their support for him as a public figure. The court’s decision underscores the necessity of adequate evidence in legal proceedings, especially for individuals in the public eye.
