The Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plans to conduct their rally peacefully. The Lahore district administration granted permission for the PTI rally, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow from 3 PM to 6 PM, with specific guidelines to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
One key requirement included in the permission is that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister must apologize for his earlier remarks made during a rally on September 8. The responsibility for maintaining security at the event falls to the PTI organizers.
After the announcement, PTI leaders addressed the media outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, confirming that the rally will be held near the Kahna Cattle Market along Ring Road. PTI leader Ishtiaq A. Khan stated that while they will strive to adhere to the rules, they cannot be held accountable for the Chief Minister’s actions.
Additionally, Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar pointed out the unequal treatment, noting that while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) was permitted to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, PTI faced restrictions. He assured that PTI would ensure the rally proceeds peacefully.
