A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered in North Waziristan following recent clashes that resulted in the martyrdom of six soldiers and the elimination of 12 terrorists.
On September 19 and 20, fierce encounters occurred in the North and South Waziristan districts. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces engaged a group of seven terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan. All seven militants were killed in the ensuing firefight, during which a substantial cache of weapons and explosives was seized.
In a separate incident in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, terrorists attacked a security forces’ checkpost. While the troops successfully defended the position and killed five attackers, six soldiers were martyred in the intense exchange of gunfire.
The ISPR stated that ongoing sanitization operations are being conducted to clear the area of any remaining threats. Security forces remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate terrorism from the region, with the sacrifices of these brave soldiers reinforcing their resolve.
