Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Set to Visit Pakistan in October

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to visit Pakistan from October 2 to 4, a move aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. The visit marks a significant step in deepening the relationship between Malaysia and Pakistan, with several key agreements expected to be signed during this period.

The agenda for the visit includes discussions on enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation. Both leaders are anticipated to address major regional and global issues, including challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and the ongoing situation in Palestine.

The invitation for this visit was extended earlier this year by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The invitation came during a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum summit held in Riyadh. During this meeting, both leaders expressed a mutual commitment to advancing their countries’ relations. They also agreed to convene the next meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad, underlining their intent to strengthen cooperative efforts.

In addition to focusing on trade and investment, the two leaders are expected to discuss collaboration in several other sectors, including education, science and technology, and livestock. Prime Minister Sharif has also encouraged Malaysian traders and businessmen to visit Pakistan to explore opportunities for expanding trade and investment relations.

This visit represents a continuation of efforts to enhance bilateral ties and reflects a shared commitment to fostering closer economic and diplomatic relations. By addressing mutual interests and expanding cooperation across various sectors, both nations aim to build a stronger partnership that benefits their respective economies and supports broader regional stability.
