Islamabad Police Arrest Individual for Online Sexual Harassment and Blackmail

Sexual Harassment

In a significant development, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has arrested a suspect involved in online sexual harassment and blackmail in Islamabad.

The suspect, Fahad Saeed, was apprehended as part of an intensified crackdown on online abuse and extortion.

Saeed is accused of blackmailing a woman by disseminating edited images of her on social media and sending inappropriate content to her relatives. The FIA has reported that Saeed used WhatsApp as a tool to intimidate the victim.

The agency has seized several items from Saeed’s possession, including four mobile phones, two laptops, a CPU, and other pertinent evidence.

Objectionable material was also recovered from these devices, supporting the charges against him. Saeed is currently in custody, and the FIA is conducting thorough investigations.

They plan to file a charge sheet based on the substantial evidence collected and aim to ensure that Saeed faces appropriate legal consequences.

In a separate incident, the FIA’s Cybercrime Circle has also arrested Muhammad Amir in Karachi on similar charges.

Amir is accused of harassing a woman on TikTok. This arrest came after a complaint from a couple who alleged that Amir had been blackmailing them with an inappropriate video of the woman.

The couple claimed that Amir had been extorting money from them under the threat of sharing the video. Amir was apprehended in the Safora area following these allegations.

Additionally, the FIA’s Cybercrime Circle Islamabad had previously arrested a suspect involved in blackmailing and harassing a female doctor.

The accused was charged with uploading the doctor’s pictures on social media and extorting money by falsely promising to secure her a job in a hospital abroad. There were three individuals implicated in this case.

According to officials, after receiving the money from the doctor, the suspects posted objectionable pictures of her on WhatsApp groups, further harassed her, and damaged her reputation within her family.

These actions underscore the FIA’s commitment to tackling online harassment and ensuring that perpetrators face justice.
