Sargodha Landlord Confesses to Killing and Burying Employee Over Theft Allegation

Theft Allegation

In Sargodha, a landlord has confessed to killing his employee and burying him in a crop field after accusing him of theft last month, according to police reports released on Sunday.

The incident came to light when Sargodha police spokesperson Khurrum Iqbal revealed that on August 30, the Kot Momin police station received a report about the abduction of Mazhar Iqbal by his employer, Amir.

The report indicated that Mazhar had been taken by Amir on August 24. The police promptly registered a kidnapping case and launched a search for both the suspect and the missing employee.

Within 12 hours of the report, Amir was apprehended by the police. During interrogation, he admitted to the crime, confessing that he had killed Mazhar after accusing him of theft.

Amir revealed that he had disposed of Mazhar’s body in a harvest field. Following this confession, the police visited the site and recovered the remains of Mazhar.

According to the spokesperson, a formal case has been registered against Amir, and he will be brought to justice and face appropriate legal consequences.

On August 31, the Sargodha Rescue 1122 Control Room received a call reporting the discovery of bones in a field, which led to further investigation by the authorities.

Mazhar, 28, was employed by Amir and was reportedly subjected to severe torture over the theft allegations. Following the torture, he was killed and his body discarded in the field. An ambulance from Rescue 1122 was dispatched to the scene to assist with the recovery of the remains.

The case was formally initiated when Mazhar’s uncle, Muhammad Aslam, filed a first information report (FIR) at the Kot Momin police station on August 30. In the FIR, Aslam detailed his last encounter with Mazhar at a fair 12 days before the report was filed.

During their meeting, Mazhar disclosed that he had not received his salary for several months and was being mistreated by Amir. He had expressed a desire to leave his job due to the mistreatment and had received threats from Amir regarding “dire consequences.”

After losing contact with Mazhar and finding his cellphone switched off, Aslam visited Amir’s residence to inquire about his nephew’s whereabouts. Amir falsely claimed that Mazhar had left his employment without notice.

However, upon further investigation, Aslam learned from two farmhands that on August 24 at around 10 a.m., they had witnessed Amir and five unidentified men torturing Mazhar before forcibly placing him in a car and driving away.

This disturbing case highlights the grave issues of abuse and injustice faced by employees, and the authorities are committed to ensuring that Amir is held accountable for his actions.
