PAPA hosts vibrant Pakistan Independence Day festival in Dallas

In Dallas, the Pakistan American Patriot Association (PAPA) hosted a vibrant Independence Day festival to celebrate Pakistan’s independence with great fervor.

The event drew a large crowd of Pakistani Americans from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and neighboring areas, who came with their families to join in the festivities.

The festival featured captivating performances by renowned Pakistani artists Ali Haider, Shehzad Roy, Hadi Uppal, and Malaika Faisal, who enthralled the audience with their music.

A variety of stalls were set up by the organizers, offering traditional Pakistani food, clothing, jewelry, and various public services, which attracted considerable attention from the attendees.

A notable addition to the festival was a special stall by the Dallas chapter of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC), led by Imtiaz Rahi.

The venue was a sea of green as attendees of all ages waved Pakistani flags, danced to patriotic tunes, and expressed their deep affection for their homeland. Many shared that, even while living in the US, they hold Pakistan close to their hearts and pray for its prosperity, affirming that “our hearts are Pakistani.”

PAPA’s President, Inamullah Sherwani, mentioned that the Independence Day festival has been a long-standing tradition. He noted that the hall was packed, reflecting the event’s success. The audience enjoyed not only the musical performances but also the shopping and traditional Pakistani cuisine.

Sherwani expressed his sincere thanks to his team, volunteers, and sponsors who contributed to the success of the event.

PAPA Vice President Dr. Rabia Khan, dressed in green and waving the Pakistani flag, highlighted the significance of freedom, drawing parallels with the experiences of people in Palestine and Ukraine. She noted that despite living in the US, they cherish their homeland’s independence and celebrate the day with great enthusiasm.

The event was well-received, with the hall brimming with attendees. PAPA General Secretary Ifti Khan congratulated Pakistanis worldwide on Independence Day and praised the success of the event. He also commended the team for their dedicated efforts.

Following his performance, Pakistani pop star Roy remarked that the Dallas Independence Festival was a remarkable event, and he praised the local Pakistani American community for their love and patriotism. Uppal expressed pride in representing his homeland abroad and was pleased to see that patriotism endures among those living far from Pakistan.

Renowned singer Haider added that, despite being away from Pakistan, they celebrate Independence Day in the US with the same passion.

Attendees conveyed their gratitude to the entire PAPA team and expressed hope that they would continue to organize such high-quality events in the future.
