2 children dead And 14 others injured in Pishin blast

Two children lost their lives, and 14 others were injured in an explosion near the police line in Pishin, Balochistan, according to police reports shared on Saturday.

Law enforcement officials stated that the injured, including several policemen, are being transported to the hospital, with some reported to be in critical condition.

Dr. Wakeel Sherani, the medical superintendent of Pishin Hospital, confirmed that 13 of the wounded have been transferred to Quetta after receiving initial treatment. The bodies of the children and one of the injured remain at the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government condemned the incident and expressed deep regret over the tragic loss of lives due to this terrorist act.

In a related context, earlier this year in February, two separate explosions targeting election candidates in Balochistan claimed 26 lives and injured 50 others, just a day before the general elections.

The first explosion killed at least 14 people and injured 25 others outside an independent candidate’s office in Pishin. The second blast occurred near the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) office in the Killa Saifullah district.

The Pishin explosion specifically took place outside the political office of independent candidate Asfand Yar Khan Kakar in the Khanozai area.
