Victims of Chagai Executions Identified as Afghan Nationals

On Saturday, authorities identified the five men whose bodies were discovered hanging from electricity poles in Dalbandin, Chagai district, the previous day.

The victims, all Afghan nationals from Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan, were identified as Rozi Khan, Rehmat Ullah, Sami Ullah, Agha Wali, and Sardar Wali. Their identities were confirmed by Muhammad Yahya, an Afghan refugee from the Girdi Jangle camp, who visited the Shah Fahad Bin Sultan Hospital, where the bodies were being held.

The bodies have been transferred to Quetta for further examination. Police are investigating whether these victims are the same individuals featured in a viral video in which they made confessional statements about the murder of Murad Notezai, a prominent leader of Jaish al-Adl, an Iran-based militant group.

Jaish al-Adl, which operates in the Sistan-Baluchestan region of Iran, might have kidnapped and executed these men in retaliation for the death of their leader. However, officials and independent sources have not yet confirmed if the bodies belong to the individuals in the video or if they are unrelated victims who were killed for other reasons.

Police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine if the deceased are indeed the same people who appeared in the video or if their deaths are linked to personal disputes. A senior police officer stated, “We are investigating the incident to establish whether the deceased are the same individuals shown in the video or if they are unrelated individuals who were killed due to personal vendettas.”

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the killings, and the investigation continues to uncover the motives behind this grim incident.
