Barrister Gohar asserts that the army’s internal actions are beyond the scrutiny of external entities. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has classified the recent action against Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed as an internal matter of the Pakistan Army.
Hameed, the former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has been taken into military custody, and a filed court martial process has commenced against him.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army conducted a thorough inquiry into complaints against Hameed, as directed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. This investigation, connected to the Top City case, resulted in the initiation of disciplinary proceedings under the Pakistan Army Act.
In response, Barrister Gohar, legal representative for the PTI Chairman, emphasized that the military operates as a disciplined and organized institution with established procedures for addressing issues involving both serving and retired officers. He reiterated that the army’s internal actions are not subject to external questioning.
