LAHORE: Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem made headlines on Sunday as he and his convoy made a notable stop at Raiwind Tableeghi Markaz during their journey to Mian Channu.
The celebrated javelin thrower, who achieved international acclaim by setting a world record at the Paris Olympics 2024, began his day with a spiritually significant Fajr prayer at the Tableeghi Markaz.
Following the prayer, the convoy continued its journey, making a brief halt at a restaurant on Multan Road in Phool Nagar for breakfast.
This unscheduled stop quickly drew a crowd, as news of Nadeem’s presence spread rapidly among locals.
Eager to catch a glimpse of the sporting hero, many gathered at the restaurant, turning the area into a vibrant scene of excitement and admiration.
In Phool Nagar, the reception for Arshad Nadeem was nothing short of spectacular. The community extended a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the Olympic champion with traditional drum beats and celebratory chants.

Nadeem’s return to Pakistan was marked with a hero’s welcome. Upon his arrival at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, he was honored with a traditional water cannon salute, symbolizing the nation’s pride in his remarkable achievement.
The grand celebration at the airport was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Punjab Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafiq, and Chairman of the PM Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed.
Additionally, Arshad Nadeem’s family, who had traveled from their village to Lahore with special protocol, joined the distinguished guests in welcoming him.
As Nadeem stepped out of the airport, he was met with an outpouring of affection from fans who showered him with flower petals, drummed, and chanted “Long Live Arshad Nadeem, Long Live Pakistan.”
