KP Operations

RAWALPINDI: On Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces have successfully neutralized four khwarij in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the ISPR, the operations, conducted in Tirah Valley within the Khyber District, involved intense exchanges of fire between the security forces and the khwarij.

The ISPR statement highlighted the heroic sacrifice of three soldiers who embraced martyrdom during these operations.

The soldiers identified were Havildar Inam Gul, aged 37, Sepoy Muhammad Imran, aged 29, and Sepoy Iltaf Khan, aged 22. These brave individuals fought valiantly and were posthumously honored for their courage and dedication.

The operations on August 9, 2024, were described as highly effective, resulting in the deaths of four khwarij who were engaged by the troops.

The security forces have since initiated a sanitization operation in the area to ensure that any remaining khwarij are eliminated and to reinforce the commitment to eradicating terrorism.

Earlier, security forces had also carried out successful operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to the elimination of five terrorists.

During these IBOs, the forces not only neutralized the terrorists but also destroyed their hideouts.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, further underscoring the effectiveness of the operations.

One of the terrorists killed, identified as Sifatullah, was implicated in a suicide attack in Daraban on December 12, 2023, and was associated with other criminal activities. Additionally, another terrorist was neutralized in an IBO conducted in North Waziristan.

The ISPR reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s determination to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of the nation.

The ongoing efforts reflect the Army’s resolute stance against terrorism, carried out in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

The sacrifices made by these soldiers are seen as a testament to the country’s unwavering resolve to tackle the scourge of terrorism and uphold peace and security.
